“Hineni” is known as the word spoken by Abraham when Gd calls upon him directly to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac. It translates to “Here I am” and implies that we, like Abraham, are fully present and open to the will of Gd.
In this version of “Hineni”, the place to being fully present is a journey. Deep within us, the inner desire begins to surface and motivates us to move towards Hashem, but there is rough terrain and many trials to undergo to reach our destination. Only after sustained and determined effort do we emerge, ready with full faith and trust to follow and accept Hashem’s will.
