Triptych :: “The Rush of the Waters: Miriam's Vision, Inspiration, and Sustenance”

"The Rush of the Waters” triptych explores the deeper meaning of the Israelites Exodus story through the eyes of Miriam, Moses' sister.
The first panel "Miriam's Vision" focuses on Miriam in her capacity as a prophet and seer. From an early age she received direct divine guidance which impacted the fate of the Jewish people. In this section of the design, the moon in a darkening sky, is surrounded by a roughly woven blanket. This represents Miriam receiving prophetic visions through her nighttime dreams. Above, are a river of reeds, symbolizing the Nile and relating directly to biblical story of Moses. In the top third of the design we share in glimpses of Miriam's vision of the deliverance of the Israelites from the oppressive hands of the Egyptians.
In the second panel "Miriam's Inspiration" we too stand at the miraculous splitting of the Red Sea, where the Israelites crossed over on dry land. We are there as the infinite might of Hashem saves our people from sure annihilation. Miriam, rousing everyone from shock, begins to dance and sing praises to our Gd, inspiring the women to join in and
